Instrument Cluster Repair
The instrument cluster is the display behind the steering wheel: speedometer, gauges, warning lights and, on many cars, part of the key system too. When the gauges die, the screen goes dark or flickers, or a replacement cluster won't work with your car, we can help. We repair clusters, or program and code a replacement to the car with the correct mileage and settings carried over from the old one, as the law requires. If your cluster is part of the immobilizer, we program the keys to it too. And when a cluster needs the dealer, we tell you honestly.
How the job goes
- 01
Call or text the car and what the cluster does: dead gauges, dark screen, warning lights or a replaced unit.
- 02
We text you the price before we drive out and tell you if it's a repair or a replacement.
- 03
At the car we check ownership, test the cluster and read its data and mileage.
- 04
We repair it or program the replacement, carry over the correct mileage, and test every gauge.

Questions
What does instrument cluster repair fix?
It fixes the display behind the wheel when the gauges stop moving, the screen goes dark or flickers, or lights stay on after a swap. Depending on the problem, we repair the original cluster or program a replacement to your car.
Does a used instrument cluster need to be programmed?
On most newer cars, yes. A used cluster may carry another car's VIN, mileage and settings, and on some cars it's part of the immobilizer. It has to be programmed to your car, with your car's correct mileage.
Will my mileage change if the cluster is replaced?
It shouldn't. The mileage on the dash must match the car's real mileage, and federal law protects that. When we program a replacement cluster, we carry over the correct mileage from the old cluster or from the car's other modules.
Why are my dashboard gauges not working?
Common causes are failed gauge motors, a bad connection or solder joint, a power or ground problem, or a module fault. We test the cluster and the wiring first, so we fix the real cause.
