ECU tuning & coding, the legal way
We flash and code engine and transmission computers at your car: factory software updates, feature coding like start/stop default, TPMS, lighting and comfort options, and emissions-legal performance calibrations that carry a CARB Executive Order or are EPA-compliant for street use. Before we start, the stock file is read and saved so the car can always go back to factory. What we don't do: emissions deletes, "DTC off", "pops & bangs" or anything that disables emission controls on a street car — it can bring heavy federal fines to you and to the shop.
How the job goes
- 01
Tell us the year, make, model and what you want: an update, a coding change or a legal tune.
- 02
We check what is available and legal for your car and text you the price.
- 03
At the car we read and save the stock software, then flash or code it.
- 04
We clear faults, test drive when needed and keep your stock file on record.
What this covers
- Factory ECU and TCM software updates
- Feature coding: start/stop default, TPMS, lighting and comfort options
- Emissions-legal performance tunes (CARB EO / EPA-compliant) where available
- Transmission adaptations and relearns after repairs
- Backup of the stock file before any change
What changes the price
- Make, model and engine or transmission
- Update or coding change versus a performance calibration
- Whether a legal tune exists for your car
- Extra coding options you add the same visit
Questions
Is ECU tuning legal in Texas and Florida?
On a street car, only calibrations that keep the emission controls working and are approved for street use (for example with a CARB Executive Order) are legal under federal law. That is the only kind of performance tune we install.
Can you turn off start/stop or change other settings?
Many cars let us change the default start/stop behavior and other factory options with coding, without touching the emission controls. Send us the car and we tell you what is possible.
Can my car go back to stock?
Yes. Before any change we read and save the stock file, so the original software can be written back later.
Do you do DPF/EGR deletes or 'pops and bangs'?
No. Those disable or alter emission controls and can bring large federal fines to the owner and the shop. We work only with legal updates, coding and approved tunes.
