Jaguar & Land Rover KVM / BCM Repair

On Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles the smart key works through a body module: the KVM (keyless vehicle module) or the BCM, depending on the model. When that module fails or loses its key data, you get 'smart key not found', a remote that does nothing, or a car that won't start. We diagnose it at your car in Dallas–Fort Worth or Greater Orlando, repair the module or replace it with a working unit, and program it and your keys to the car. Some jobs need the module read on our bench and returned the same visit or a later one.

How the job goes

  1. 01

Text us the model and what you see: smart key not found, no start, or a dead remote.

  2. 02

We confirm the price by text, then check the key, its battery and the module at the car.

  3. 03

We repair the KVM or BCM, or replace it with a working module, on the car or on our bench.

  4. 04

The module and your keys are programmed to the car, then we test keyless entry and the start.

Questions

What does 'smart key not found' mean on a Jaguar or Land Rover?

The car can't see a valid key. Sometimes it's just the key battery or a damaged key; other times the KVM or BCM has failed or lost its key data. We test the key and the module at the car before any repair.

Why won't my Range Rover start even though the key works?

If the remote locks the doors but the car still won't start, the fault may be in the KVM, the BCM or the immobilizer data between them. We diagnose it at the car and tell you honestly what failed.

Can a Jaguar or Land Rover BCM or KVM be repaired?

Often, yes. Many failed modules can be repaired and their key data restored. When the module is damaged, we replace it with a working unit and program it and your keys to your car. Some jobs need our bench.

Do I need the dealer to fix my Land Rover smart key?

Not always. Many KVM, BCM and smart key jobs are done at the car, so you often avoid a tow and a dealer appointment. If your model truly needs the dealer, we tell you before we drive out.
