Ignition Repair and Replacement at Your Car
When the key won't turn, gets stuck in the ignition, or turns without starting the car, the problem is often the ignition cylinder, not the battery. A worn key and worn parts inside the cylinder slowly stop lining up until one day nothing moves. We come to your car, find out whether the key, the cylinder or the switch is the problem, and repair or replace the ignition cylinder on site. New keys are cut to match and the chip is programmed to the car, so everything works together, often without a tow.

Questions
Why won't my key turn in the ignition?
Often the steering wheel lock is set: turn the wheel gently left and right while you turn the key. If that doesn't work, the key or the ignition cylinder is likely worn. Don't force it, because a broken key makes the job bigger. Call us and we'll come to the car.
Can a locksmith fix an ignition?
Yes. An automotive locksmith repairs and replaces ignition cylinders and makes keys to match, right at your car. If the problem turns out to be electrical, like the starter or a wiring fault, we tell you honestly so you can take it to a mechanic.
Should I repair or replace my ignition cylinder?
When the cylinder can be rebuilt, repair is usually less work; when it is badly worn or damaged, it has to be replaced. We look at it first and tell you which one your car needs before we start.
Do I need a tow for a stuck ignition?
Often not. We bring the tools to the car and do the ignition repair where it is parked. Some cars need parts that have to be ordered, and if that happens we tell you right away.
