Spare Car Key and Key Duplication

Making a spare car key while you still have one that works is the simplest key job there is, and it costs less than replacing a key after every key is lost. Our mobile key cutting comes to you: we copy your key, whether it's traditional, laser-cut, chip, remote-head or a push-to-start smart key, and program the copy to the car so it starts, not just turns. It's a good time to get one if you have a new driver, a second person using the car, or only one key left. You get the price by text before we drive out.

How the job goes

  1. 01

Text us the year, make and model and a photo of the key you have now.

  2. 02

We text you the price before we drive out and bring the right blank or smart key.

  3. 03

At the car we check ID and ownership, then cut the copy from your key.

  4. 04

We program the chip or remote to the car and test both keys before we leave.

Questions

How much does it cost to make a spare car key?

It depends on the key. A plain metal key is simple; chip, remote-head and smart keys also need programming. Text us the car and a photo of your key, and we send you the exact price before we drive out.

Can you copy a car key with a chip?

Yes. We cut the blade from your key and program a new chip to the car, so the spare starts the engine and doesn't just open the door. Some chips can be cloned and others must be programmed through the car; we do both.

Why get a spare key before I lose the last one?

With a working key, a spare is a simple duplication. If the last key is lost, the job becomes all keys lost: it takes more time, costs more, and on some cars needs extra programming. A spare kept at home saves you that trouble.

Do you do mobile key cutting near me?

If you are in Dallas–Fort Worth or Greater Orlando, yes. We come to your home, your work or wherever the car is parked with the key machine and the programming tools. Call or text your address and we'll confirm.
