All Keys Lost? We Make a New Key at Your Car
Losing every key to your car feels like losing the car too. It isn't. When all keys are lost, a mobile locksmith can still make a new one: we cut the blade from the VIN or by reading the lock, then program the key to the car's immobilizer right where it is parked, at home, at work, in a parking lot or on the roadside. That often means no tow and no wait for a dealer appointment. We check your ID and proof of ownership first, and we text you the price before we drive out. Questions
What do I do if I lose all my car keys?
Don't tow it yet. Call or text a mobile automotive locksmith with the year, make, model and location. We can make a new key from the VIN or the lock and program it at the car. Have your photo ID and the title or registration ready.
Can a locksmith make a car key without the original?
Yes. With the VIN and proof that you own the car, we cut the blade by key code or by reading the lock, then program a new transponder or smart key to the car. No original key is needed.
Do I need to tow my car to the dealer if I lost all my keys?
Often you don't. We bring the key machine and the programming tools to the car. For a few late-model cars the key can only come from the dealer, and when that is the case we tell you before we drive out, so you don't pay for a trip.
Will my lost key still start the car?
On many cars we can erase the lost or stolen keys from the car's memory while we program the new ones, so the old key no longer starts it. Ask us when you call and we'll tell you if your car allows it.
