Questions
Can a locksmith program an Audi or VW key?
On many models, yes. We read the immobilizer data and program a new key at your car. Some newer Audi and Volkswagen models can only get keys through the dealer, and we check your VIN and tell you before we drive out.
What are the signs of an Audi steering lock failure?
On the A4, A5 and Q5 the usual signs are a car that won't start, a steering wheel that stays locked and a steering lock warning on the dash. We diagnose it and repair or replace the lock with a working part adapted to your car.
Why does my VW key open the doors but not start the car?
The remote and the immobilizer chip are two different things. If the remote works but the car won't start, the chip may not be programmed or the immobilizer may not accept it. We test it and program the key to the car.
Can you make an Audi or VW key if I lost all my keys?
Often, yes. All keys lost on many Audi and Volkswagen models is done by reading the immobilizer data from the car. Have your ID and title or registration ready — we only make keys for the owner.
